Travelling into the wilderness of Canada can be an intimate and retrospective experience. Some of the best places for these kinds of moments are near waterfalls. Not only that, but they make for great photo opportunities if you have your family or friends with you. The Muskoka area has several wondrous waterfalls to see, and Legacy Cottages is close to the best ones. Take a look and start planning your nature hike when you visit the Muskoka area.
Rosseau Falls
This is a stunning waterfall that pours into Lake Rosseau. It’s an ideal place to start since you shouldn’t be too far away from this one. These falls are also split into two parts with an upper and lower area to explore.
Muskoka Falls
Muskoka Falls is a massive sight to see. This waterfall, over the years, has carved a large gorge through the rocks, and once you visit it in person, you will be able to see how that was possible. This raging gorge and waterfall is a force to be reckoned with.
Ragged Falls
The Ragged Falls are in Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park. This waterfall has multiple viewing spots to see it, so you won’t have to worry about finding the right place to see it if the area is crowded. Because this one is in a park, a park pass is required to see it up close.
Stubb’s Falls
Hiking along the Stubb’s Falls Trail is a treat in itself, but you’re here to see the waterfall. Stubb’s Falls is a great one. It’s in Arrowhead Provincial Park, and one of the most reserved and calming falls you’ll find on this list. There is an admission fee to get into the park.
High Falls/Little High Falls
These two falls offer great picture opportunities for your hike. They are not hard to find. Just keep your eyes on the trail, and you will be able to see both in a day. Make sure to take pictures at both!
