45 days prior to your stay, you will receive a link to our Guest Portal:

  • This portal contains current development and local area information
  • Our partners are featured on this portal; these are well established local businesses, that bring value to our local area and to our guests
  • Some partners offer exclusive values to our guests
  • Make sure to activate the portal for the most current guest information and access to our concierge
What to bring for your cottage vacation?
  • The cottage comes equipped with initial supplies: toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towel, bed linens, bath/hand/face towels
  • Please bring: beach/pool towels, additional paper supplies to complete your supply once the initial supplies have been depleted
  • Please note, there is no restaurant on-site; all meals will need to be brought into the development or delivered through pre-arrangement
  • Think Safety: please ensure you remember PFDs for all water activities.
What is check-in/check-out time?
  • Check-in time is 4:00pm
  • Check-out time is 11:00am
What amenities do the cottages have?
  • Washing machine, dryer, kitchen appliances, BBQ,
    and at least 1 Smart TV in each unit
Are cottages cleaned daily or weekly? Am I responsible for cleaning upon departure?
  • Cottages are cleaned prior to your arrival and after your departure, cleaning in the interim is your responsibility
  • Cleaning service is available – contact the concierge for more details
Where do I find groceries and staples for my cottage vacation?
  • Cottage country abounds with small weekly farmer’s markets and vintage country stores
  • Please check the Guest Portal for current contact information and Google Maps connectivity
  • Foodland in Port Carling for major groceries (10-12 minute drive),
  • Field of Greens in Port Carling for gourmet, high-end staples and prepared meals (10-12 minute drive)
  • Other options include:
    • Minett Convenience Store (walking distance)
    • Silver Stream Farms in Port Sandfield (open seasonally May to November)
    • Rosseau General Store for pre-prepared and fresh-prepared foods

What watersports are available at Legacy Cottages?

  • All other watersports are available by rental from local suppliers, please contact the Concierge for more details
Are boats available for rent? Is docking available for boats?
  • Please contact the concierge for mooring information, if you intend to bring your boat or rent a boat during your time at the development
  • Non-motorized watercraft of all kinds are welcome. Please contact the Concierge for storage/mooring information
When is the Boathouse open?
  • Our Boathouse is under construction; updates coming soon!
When is the outdoor pool open?
  • Our Pool is almost completed; updates coming soon!
Is high-speed Wi-Fi available?
  • Yes – complimentary Wireless highspeed internet is provided for every cottage
Is high-definition TV available? Cable? Satellite? Netflix?
  • Yes – Smart TVs  host the majority of streaming applications; please ensure you bring your login information to enable services
Are children of all ages welcome at Legacy Cottages?
  • Yes – we welcome children of all ages
Are pets welcome at Legacy Cottages?
  • Yes – your pet is welcome. Pets must be leashed at all times when in common areas. Pets are not allowed at the outdoor pool or beach area. A strict poop and scoop policy is in effect and a maximum of (2) household pets per cottage is permitted. An additional fee applies.
  • Pet policies are individual to each cottage, please ensure the cottage you select is pet friendly, if you are in doubt please contact the concierge by pressing the Connect with Us button below, prior to booking.
  • North on Hwy 400 to Barrie; at Barrie take the 400 extension towards Sudbury (do not take Hwy 11 - longer route).
  • Continue 400 North to Exit 189: ON-69 toward MacTier/Gravenhurst.
  • Merge onto Lake Joseph Rd (5.6 km) then turn right onto Muskoka 169 (signs for Gravenhurst/Port Carling/Bracebridge/Highway 169): 9.3 km.
  • Turn left onto Muskoka 118 W (signs for Regional Road 118/Port Carling/Bracebridge), 4.7 km.
  • Turn left onto Peninsula Rd/Muskoka District Road 7 (signs for Regional Road 7/Rosseau).
  • Continue for 10.5km, Legacy Cottages at Lake Rosseau will be on the Right.
